The symptoms of asthma may vary from person to person, and from time to time. Some people may have all of these symptoms while other people may only have a wheeze or cough.
Common symptoms include:
- Wheezing (a 'whistle' in the chest)
- Tightness in the chest
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Dry, irritating, persistent cough, particularly at night, early morning, with exercise or activity
